DidnĀ“t want to start a new post and imagine those on this thread will know, so John Conteh, does anyone remember this old school fella, and also big Joe Egan??
Was Conteh a good champion in his day?

wasn't good enough to win, but not bad enough to lose either.
everything else is just conjecture.

one defeat, lets not write him off just yet.

Re: Wilder v Fury 2

off nights but he only lost one of those 4 fights on paper.
if you are constantly KO'ing people does the rest really matter?

lets be honest, he lost/drew the first fight but came very close to winning it.

lets also be honest, he hit Fury with everything he has and it wasn't enough

Re: Wilder v Fury 2
would you rather be Ortiz or Wilder? you can hand out as many lessons as you want, but if he eventually KOs you then its a bit pointless.

of course it helps if like Wilder in the frst fight you have a handy doctor in your pocket to give you an extra minute between round when you were out on your feet

Re: Wilder v Fury 2
AJ is much better than Wilder in my opinion he has much more ability boxing wise, and if you watch his knockouts he uses both hands with many combinations, Wilder measures with the left and bam the right comes in as the knockout punch, and that is about all he has his left is as weak as a jab.

Whyte is the mandatory for the WBC but dont think Hearn has muttered his name once.

AJ is all he cares about. The rest are just his pocket money.

Fury had the power and skill to stop Wilder second time around, maybe thats the only way to beat him?
